Basic Lifting Programs

There are many ways to build strength and the absolute ideal methods do not always fit into our daily schedule unless you are an Olympian at a training facility or a professional athlete. In this article, we’re going to cover a program designed for your work week. Let’s assume that you can hit the gym four days per week.
The plan is to hit the gym for one hour each day. If you’re lifting hard, you do not need more than one hour. However, if you go to the gym as a social activity, you’ll always need more time. So how do you know if you’re going to the gym for social reasons? Well, you’ll be exercising your mouth and tongue a lot. We are advocates of WORKING OUT so go to the gym and get busy.
Okay, if you want to focus on your chest and back, set up your schedule for Monday and Thursday to be chest days (followed by triceps, shoulders and leg extensions). Then, set up Tuesday and Friday as back (followed by bi-cepts, leg curls, leg press and lunges).
Yes, legs are an important part of your workout. Some studies show that you get a ten percent increase in all muscle groups simply by lifting upper legs. My understanding is because a significant amount of growth hormone is stimulated in the body when muscles in the upper legs are triggered.
Anyway, to set up a good efficient routine, you’ll want to mix it up every time you go to the gym. In other words, pick 3-4 chest exercises each work out. You may start with flat bench one day, followed by incline, decline and cable cross. The next day you might want to start with incline dumbles followed by a dumbbell fly, decline and dips. Whatever route you choose, if you’re lifting for strength, it’s all about lower repetition counts and higher weight. Consider doing 3 sets of 4 exercises for a total of 12 sets. As far as repetitions on strength training, some say to go 8 for all 3 sets. I tend to go 8, 6, 3 and then a quick burn out after all exercises and sets are completed.
Those looking for the ”cut” look or trying to increase endurance will want more reps and more sets. In this case, try 4 sets of at least 12 repetitions (lighter weights).
Once you get to biceps or triceps, they should be almost burnt so just finish the job with 2-3 exercises. Again, mix it up! We are going to get more specific about routines and the benefits of the various programs as we build out our blog!

My son Martin had so many toys. Even though he had just too many toys, he still wanted more. One day we went to my father’s house and he started irritating me telling that he wanted a new toy. I have always had a fascination for guns and other launchers. And that would in a way explain why I am in the police force now. My son having seen a lot of guns and such launchers was also fascinated with these things. He came to me one day and asked me if he could have a gun. I told him that he could have one when he was old enough to get a license for it and also learn to use it properly. But he was very firm that he wanted one and I also had to be firm for him. The next day I told him that I was going to teach him how to make a potato launcher.

When I was young, my grandfather used to tell me a lot of stories and as I liked adventures a lot, he used to tell me stories of wars more than the other kind of stories. As I grew up, I still cherished the stories and still got to hear those stories because I was his only grandson and his most favorite grandchild. In one of the stories, my grandfather told me about cannons and I wanted to have one. My grandfather told me that we could not get real cannons not but it was possible to build a potato cannon.
